This was an idea that my discord friends and I had in a  late night frenzy of ideas that we couldn’t rest without sharing. Basically, here is the premise:

Basic Premise

Once upon a time, two groups lived in harmony, making their livings in small western-style towns. But Lightners sought urbanization and began moving away to form their own industrialized cities, leaving the Darkners to maintain western traditions alone.

Four brothers (the Kings, in this AU possibly marshals or sheriffs) came to govern the few remaining rural county towns. Soon, a mysterious outsider offered something that Spade couldn’t refuse; he offered the riches and power that the Lightners easily achieved in their cities with no requirements to give up old western tradition. He was motivated then to challenge each of his brothers in a standoff, successfully wounding and then jailing each of them (or killing them if you want to go the darker route).

Susie and Kris arrive in Spade’s town one day after getting lost, and Ralsei–who came from the city years ago and learned to get along with the westerners before Spades had taken power of the counties informs them of the cruel under-workings of Spade’s government which relies on manipulation and theft of the Lightners’ wealth by using pawns who know how to exploit the loopholes of the cities’ economic system. I’ll leave the rest up to others.

Here’s the fun part though!!

Character Roles!!!

The kings are the sheriffs perhaps, although Sheriff Spades locks the others up and runs the remaining western towns.

Sheriff Spades has a son (Lancer) who enjoys being rambunctious and owns a pony (he’s not old enough to have an actual horse yet) and likes causing trouble but it somewhat intrigued by the city slickers that arrive later on.

Rouxls Kaard is a deputy “hired” by Spades, although he doesn’t do his job very well (whether on purpose or not is debatable).

Seam and Jevil (before the mysterious outsider arrived) ran the most popular saloon in the west, with Seam being the wise and humorous bartender and Jevil being a performer (this could be interpreted how you want, but I think he’d be great at performing theatrical skits). After the outsider came, Jevil became one of the most prolific outlaw gunslingers and Seam opened a smaller business.

The Rudinns, Hathies, etc. are basically the denizens of the towns, although some take smaller law enforcement roles.

Kris and Susie are outsiders from the city, helped along by Ralsei who was once an outsider too but has basically been integrated into western society.
