As for the anime girl in the plaid skirt, I braved the hellscape that is early ‘00s anime websites, exploring endless gif-covered Gaia pages and vampire-filled roleplay forums, traveling across seas of unsourced DeviantArt edits and low-res hentai, to discover that she is an original character by Hiro Suzuhira. She has done work for Shuffle!, Ef: A Tale of Melodies, Akikan!, Phantom Breaker, and We Without Wings, among many others, and she is also a prolific freelance illustrator. Voltron Legendary Defender Season 8 and Series Finale
I don’t give a flying fuckadoodle what the internet is saying about this final season, there was SO much good stuff that happened:
1. Allurance shippers you got your wish. Be happy that it came true.
2. Kolivan survived bitches, if that’s not enough for you I don’t know what to do with you.
3. THOSE LEAKED PHOTOS WERE REAL, YES SLIGHTLY DOCTORED BUT THEY WERE REAL WHICH MEANS THAT WE GOT A GAY WEDDING/HAPPY ENDING FOR ONE TAKASHI SHIROGANE.
4. The new Paladins were able to save the old Paladins souls, which means that Zarkon got his redemption and was able to be with his family (Paladins included).
5. WE. HAVE. AN. ALTEAN. LANCE. AND. A. GALRA. KEITH.
6. For all the people freaking out about “latino Lance” being a farmer, THERE IS NO FRAKING MESSAGE BEHIND IT. HE WAS A FARMERS SON BEFORE VOLTRON, HE KNOWS HOW TO MILK A COW, HE LIKES GARDENING, THERE IS NO RACISM HERE.
7. Lotorua shippers kind of sort of got there wish, as did Klance shippers. It might not have been romantic relationships but they WERE there.
8. We got baby, toddler, pre-teen, AND pre-corruption Lotor. I think that counts as a win.
9. We didn’t get a cliffhanger on the Ranveig beast, although it was creepy as FUCK.
10. We have BoM Acxa, Ezor, and Zethrid being led by Leader Keith (Kolivan SOOOOOOO adopted him).
11. FUCKING WHITE LION VOLTRON. WHEN IS A FUNKO POP OR MODEL COMING OUT, I’LL TAKE A THOUSAND.
12. SHIRO GOT TO BE A PALADIN AGAIN, NOT ONLY THAT BUT HE WAS THE WHITE PALADIN.
13. Honerva received a chance at redemption and she took it.
14. THERE WAS AN ALLURA GALAXY AT THE END.
15. Veronica x Acxa shippers, I applaud you.
16. Altea and Daibazaal were revived.
17. The music was AMAZING.
18. Ezor x Zethrid got a happy ending.
So again everyone, be kind, be happy that we had such and amazing show, and that it brought us all together the way it did.
The best shipping content to come out of Voltron Season 8 is when Hunk gently and tenderly whispers “Shay” because it made a bitch experience an emotion and the bitch was me.
Also when Zethrid was so upset about Ezor that she wanted to die, but she was saved and Ezor showed up to be there with her?? And they were together in the credits??? That made me so happy.
